WEATHER HEADLINES
- Dense fog possible in many areas tonight
- Watch for freezing fog and slick spots with below freezing temps.
- Breezy and colder air this weekend

DENSE FOG OVERNIGHT
As drier air helps deliver breaks in the clouds this evening, it also allows dense fog to form around the region. Visibility will be 1/2 mile or less and may be near zero in spots late into early Saturday.
With temperatures dropping below freezing tonight, some of that fog may freeze.
ROAD CONDITIONS: I-77 through Fancy Gap will be in dense fog along with other major roadways. Temperatures near freezing close to the Blue Ridge Parkway will lead to freezing fog and may produce slick road conditions. Use extra caution.
THE WEEKEND
Weekend temperatures will barely reach the low/mid 30s in the mountains and the low 40s elsewhere. Saturday also remains quite blustery with wind gusts above 25mph at times.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES issued for areas west of I-77 and into West Virginia where lingering mountain snow showers are possible Saturday. The highest mountain peaks may see 2-4″ of snow along with strong winds.
Sunday we expect increasing sunshine but still rather chilly with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s.
