Two longtime members of Washington's front office -- Alex Santos and Richard Mann II -- have been fired just a few weeks before training camp is set to begin, NBC Sports Washington's JP Finlay has confirmed. The news was first reported by The Athletic's Ben Standig and Rhiannon Walker, as well as Les Carpenter of The Washington Post.
Santos, who served as Washington's director of pro personnel, had been with the organization since 2006. Throughout his tenure in Washington, Santos served as a pro personnel assistant, a pro scout and advanced scout before being promoted to the director role in 2014. His work was widely respected around the NFL.
Mann, the assistant director of pro personnel, was entering his 11th season with Washington and fourth in the assistant role.
Both Santos and Mann served instrumental roles in evaluating free agents and opponent scouting.

The shakeup is the latest of multiple personnel changes in the front office since longtime team president Bruce Allen was fired in late December and well-respected head coach Ron Rivera was hired by owner Dan Snyder. The team has yet to formally hire a replacement for Allen. Senior VP of Player Personnel Kyle Smith served a GM-like role during April's NFL Draft.
Other front office changes Washington has endured this offseason include parting with Eric Schaffer, who spent 17 years with the franchise as the organization's respected salary-cap guru and general counsel. He held the role of VP of football operations before he was let go. Rivera hired former Panthers' front office staffer Rob Rogers to replace Schaffer. Additionally, Doug Williams was reassigned from the pro personnel department to player department.
With the name change still at the forefront, these moves could portend yet another wild week in Ashburn.
