The terrible tragedy occurred right in front of the little girl’s father at the family home.
The 3-year-old girl’s dad was washing his car in the driveway when she darted out in the street, just as a neighbor was returning home, cops say.
As WFMZ 69 News reports, the fatal incident happened at the 500 block of East Bertsch Street in Lansford, Carbon County, shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Details from WFMZ:
According to police, the girl's father was out washing a car while his kids were playing outside. A neighbor was coming home when the girl ran out from between cars and into the path of the car and was hit, police said.
The driver stayed at the scene and called 911. The girl’s father brought her to the hospital in a personal vehicle, where she later died.
An investigation is ongoing.
