CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Now that the first cold front stalled out, became a warm front, and moved out, now is time for the next front to come through. Today, temperatures were the warmest for the week as the cloud cover increased throughout the day. The gusty winds from the west helped to move out the warm front into the Dakotas while also fueling the atmosphere with warm air allowing for lots of precipitation tomorrow. Despite the fact that the front is coming from the northwest, the storms will be moving from the southwest to the northeast. With that in mind, tomorrow morning will start out with snow in those areas like Evanston and Rock Springs. Snow will continue moving across the southern border towards the capital city by around 11am. It’ll continue moving toward the northeast bringing snow to the Nebraska panhandle and Casper for the afternoon hours.

With this strong cold front moving through, temperatures will drop and moisture will fall as snow throughout much of the southern and eastern regions of Wyoming.(Jordan Frazier)

Good news is that the winds will stay on the calm side despite the increase in atmospheric energy. Gusts will get up to 25 to 30 MPH in some of the cities, but I do not see any road delays or closures from the wind. I do foresee road closures and delays from the snowfall and reduced visibility. After the front and colder temperatures go away by early next week, the Wyoming wind will make a comeback into the forecast.

Typically when a front moves through, there is strong winds moving it around, but that doesn't seem to be case this time as gusts are relatively calm.(Jordan Frazier)

Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies as the front moves through. Lows will be on the warmer side with a number of cities being above freezing. This is from the above average day we had and the increased cloud cover preventing much of the heat from leaving. Highs tomorrow will be not much warmer than the lows, and because of the front, they will take place in the early parts of the day with temperatures continually dropping throughout the day going into the evening hours. If the cold gets you down, don’t worry, temperatures will shoot back up to the 40s and 50s by the beginning of next work week.

As is the case with most cold front moving in, highs tomorrow won't be much different from the overnight lows. Highs taking place in the early morning and slowly dropping off throughout the day.(Jordan Frazier)
