Jacksonville, Fl — A slow-moving cold front will bring some rain and a threat for storms today. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says clusters of showers and storms will develop from west to east.
“Disturbances riding along that front will produce bands and periods and clusters of showers and a few thunderstorms. And there may be some west-to-east bands of rain that setup that may become quite heavy”, said Buresh.

A few storms could produce gusty winds and even some hail. The greatest threat for a strong storm will be in the mid to late afternoon hours before storms move off the Atlantic coast.
After three consecutive days in the low to mid 90s, temps today will top out in the 70s and 80s before we clear out areawide tonight with cooler air and low humidity.
Friday is looking gorgeous, with sunny conditions and mild temperatures only in the low 80s. Saturday morning may be chilly in some inland areas. By Saturday afternoon we’ll be in the low 80s with humidity still low.
Mother’s Day will be warmer but still very pleasant, with temperatures climbing to the mid 80s and dry. It will be our first fully dry weekend in four weeks.
