NORTH HAVEN — One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday after two cars crashed in front of the fire department headquarters on Broadway.
The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m., according to Fire chief Paul Januszewski.
He said one of the cars was driving east on Broadway when it collided with another vehicle turning out of Peck Street.
Januszewski said firefighters inside the station went outside to assist the drivers.
“One vehicle had rolled over, and one person was transported to the hospital,” he said.
The driver was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision shut down Broadway for a “brief period of time,” Januszewski said. Neither car was carrying any passengers.
Police are still determining who was at fault in the accident and would be speaking with the hospitalized driver, the chief said.
