Middle Tennessee at Marshall: Three things to know

Middle Tennessee is coming off a bye week and a postponement after an Oct. 24 overtime win over Rice. The victory over the Owls marked the Raiders’ fourth one-score game this fall; MTSU is 2-2 over those contests. Saturday’s game marks the 50th anniversary of the Nov. 14, 1970, plane crash that killed 75 people, including most of the 1975 Marshall football team and coaching staff. The 2020 edition of Marshall Football has thus far gone 4-0 on its home turf, vanquishing its four foes by a combined margin of 121 points. Junior RB Brenden Knox has paced a strong Marshall ground game. Knox has racked up 674 yards and 9 touchdowns this season. He has averaged 5.1 yards per attempt, and he runs behind a well-regarded offensive line which has paved the way to a 4.9 average for all Herd runners.

Money line (ML)

BYPASS THE MONEY LINE.

Against the spread (ATS)

Figure on a fired-up Marshall squad working its way to a three-score lead and then clocking it out. Something in the 21-to-24-point range fits all too easily in figuring this one. PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

Marshall has a strong defense, one that figures to choke the Raiders into perhaps a few three-and-outs and twice as many punts. A couple of key Herd receivers are injury question marks, and MU has the ground game to pound out a comfortable win with a total of 55-or-less. BACK THE UNDER 56.5 (-110).
