NAPOLEON, MI – A Napoleon Middle School staff member has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The positive COVID-19 test was announced Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 9, and means all middle school classes are switched to remote online learning through the end of the week, district officials said. Contact tracing is happening to find any close contacts, they said.
All athletics for students in sixth through eighth grades are also suspended for the week, district officials said.
Families will be contacted if their student was in close contact with the employee, officials said.
All other Napoleon Community Schools buildings and activities will continue, per the advice of the Jackson County Health Department.
Middle school students who need technology help should contact 517-905-5703. Teachers are available during school hours through Google Classroom and email, officials said.
