Sumner County Middle College High School celebrated its largest graduating class ever this year with 45 students receiving high school diplomas in a socially-distanced ceremony at Volunteer State Community College.
The event, held June 27, featured all the appropriate COVID-19 precautions, officials said.
Of the 45 graduates who received their high school diplomas, 31 also received associate degrees from Vol State during the college virtual ceremony in May.
Middle College High School students take Vol State classes, earning high school and college credit at the same time. It allows students to get a jump start on their college career, entering a university with many college credits, officials noted.
Several Middle College students made the spring Dean’s List at Vol State and participated in the Phi Theta Kappa honors program and TN Scholar Program.
Middle College is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Visit https://ift.tt/2BVfmmc for more information or to apply.
