WESLEY CHAPEL — A pedestrian walking in the middle of the road was struck and killed by an SUV before dawn Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The victim is a male but has not been identified, the Highway Patrol said.
He was walking north about 5:50 a.m. in the center of the southbound lane of Old Pasco Road, north of Country Club Road, when a 20-year-old Wesley Chapel man driving an SUV ran into him. The driver tried to avoid him but could not, the Highway Patrol said.
