A leader in an advocacy group for men’s rights was fatally shot at his front door in the Crestline community of Cedar Pines Park on Saturday, July 11.
A relative of the victim called authorities at about 4 p.m. to report a shooting on the 22400 block of Glenwood Drive, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said. Deputies arrived in the community in the San Bernardino Mountains, and encountered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel responded, and later pronounced the victim dead in front of his home. He was identified as 52-year-old Marc Angelucci.
A motive for the shooting was not known.
Friends, I am heartbroken to say that my good friend, Marc Angelucci, was killed last night at his CA home.
Marc was a high-profile lawyer, incredible Mens & Fathers Rights Advocate & a fierce warrior for truth & justice. Many know him from The Red Pill movie.
Pls pray for him. pic.twitter.com/xTwXQZkK5C— DeAnna Lorraine 🇺🇸 (@DeAnna4Congress) July 12, 2020
“Marc was extremely well-spoken and a skilled publicist for men’s issues,” representatives for the National Coalition For Men (NCFM) wrote in a post on their website.
Angelucci was credited in the post as a founder and former president of the NCMF’s Los Angeles chapter. At the time of his death, he served as a board member for the coalition, which describes itself as a “gender inclusive, nonpartisan, ethnically diverse organization” that is “committed to ending harmful discrimination and stereotypes against boys, men, their families and the women who love them.”
NCFM led a legal battle that led to a 2019 decision that found conscripting only male soldiers into compulsory military service via the draft unfair to men and unconstitutional. Attorneys affiliated with the group have sued companies that host “ladies nights” and other events open only to women for allegedly discriminating against men.
Authorities asked anyone with information relevant to their investigation to contact Detective Simon Demuri with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail at 909-387-3589.
