PRATTVILLE — Marbury Middle School is closed due to coronavirus exposure.
Autauga County Schools Superintendent Spence Agee did confirm Monday afternoon that a school had been closed due to exposure but he would not name the school. Several sources say it is the middle school. Students and staff are not in the schools for instruction, but preparations are being made for opening for the next academic year and football practice is going on at some schools.
The exposure may force back the date of the reopening of the entire school system. The system was planning for teachers to return on Aug. 6 to get classrooms ready for students to come back Aug. 13.
Agee confirms that the board of education members and administrators are considering a plan to re-open after Labor Day.
Marbury Middle School will be disinfected before it is re-opened.
