BRUNSWICK, Ohio
Vandalism: Pearl Road
Police reported finding Edwards Middle School vandalized on June 15. The damage occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. June 12 and 7:30 a.m. June 15, reports said.
Brunswick City School District personnel said an unknown person or persons entered the school building by unknown means and discharged a fire extinguisher, broke a mirror and spread syrup and mustard inside the building.
Alarms and surveillance cameras were not activated at the time of the incident.
Disorderly conduct: Center Road
A woman was cited for disorderly conduct at 6 p.m. June 12 while she was being treated at the Cleveland Clinic for injuries sustained during a pursuit with the Brunswick Hills Police Department.
The intoxicated woman was reportedly using “violent language and cursing” while at the hospital and continued after being told to stop.
Open container: Pearl Road
A woman was cited for having an open container of alcohol in a public place at 12:19 a.m. June 11 after she was stopped by police in the Laurel Square plaza parking lot.
Theft: Center Road
Police were called to Comfort Suites at 9:07 a.m. June 11 for the report of a car theft. The victim said that her friend “drove off in (the victim’s) rental car without her consent,” according to reports.
According to the victim, the theft took place following an argument.
The following day, Brunswick police learned that the suspect had returned the car to the rental company in Massillon, with some of the victim’s personal items still inside.
Open container: Pearl Road
A driver was pulled over at 10:35 p.m. June 11 for driving with no headlights. He was later cited for open container when officers saw a bottle of alcohol in plain view inside the car.
Criminal damaging: Weathervane Lane
Police found a picnic table at Boston Knolls Park damaged after seeing a social media post by a concerned citizen June 13. The picnic table had been spray-painted by an unknown person.
Theft: Turnbridge Court
A man reported the catalytic converter stolen from a 2002 Honda Accord while the car was parked at an apartment complex overnight June 14. There were no suspects at the time of the report, but complex management was reviewing security camera footage for evidence.
