A KSTP reporter, photographer and producer were caught in the middle of chemical irritants being used to disperse protesters by the National Guard and local law enforcement Saturday night amid the unrest in the Twin Cities following George Floyd's death.
The crew, along with other members of the press were in an area where state troopers were advancing toward protesters. The troopers launched chemical irritants and flashbangs in the street; while attempting to retreat the KSTP crew was sprayed by chemical irritant and pepper spray.
