Louisville Middle recently was given the “No Place for Hate” Excellence Award by the Anti-Defamation League’s mountain states region, recognizing the school’s work to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful school community.
The award recognizes Louisville Middle for extending its culture beyond the school, noting students presented to the City Council to urge the city to adopt the core values of the school’s “Pirates for Peace” program. Also lauded was school staff work to investigate “implicit and explicit biases found in school-level survey results.”
Boulder Valley schools participating in the “No Place for Hate” anti-bullying program this school year were Boulder High, Broomfield Heights Middle, Eisenhower Elementary, Emerald Elementary, Flatirons Elementary, Lafayette Elementary, Louisville Middle, Monarch High and Nevin Platt Middle.
