McKINNEY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — McKinney police are investigating after a middle school student reported that a man tried to abduct her in a nearby neighborhood Wednesday.
On Jan. 8, police received a report of an alleged abduction in the 6900 block of Bountiful Grove Drive, where the student said a man grabbed her, but drove away after she fought him off.
The suspect is described as an Indian man in his 20s, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and was seen driving in a gray/silver 4DR.
1/ On Wednesday, 1/8, we received a report of an alleged abduction attempt in the 6900 blk of Bountiful Grove Drive. A middle school girl told officers that an Indian male in his 20s, around 5’10”, grabbed her, but she fought him off & he drove away in a gray or silver 4DR.

Police have since said the individual has been identified, however, they are still asking anyone with information to contact Det. Craven at 972-547-2816.
Scoggins Middle School Principal Barbara Warner later released the following message to families:
Hello Seahawk Families,
We wanted to make all of our families aware that we received a report about a student being approached by a stranger near the Harvest Bend neighborhood behind Scoggins this evening. The student is safe, and the McKinney Police Department has been notified and is investigating. We wanted to keep all of our families in the loop that this occurred so that we can all work together to ensure that our students are safe.
This would be a good time to discuss safety and awareness of one’s surroundings with your child. Anytime they see something suspicious or threatening, please encourage them to contact you or another adult.
