ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - One local middle school hosted a cultural expo to teach students about cultural differences and take them out of their comfort zone.
Colorful poster boards, cultural dances and many excited kids filled the gymnasium of Lincoln middle school. This cultural expo allowed students to learn and experience life in different countries. Parent and Community Liason of Lincoln Middle School Delshamira Francis helped organize the event and can't help but get emotional seeing her vision come to life.
"It touched my heart because I got to see students,” said Francis. “Although there are language barriers again we're all so different but there's something that we all have in common we all come from somewhere."
Francis says she's very proud of her students and how well this expo came together. She says she would love for Lincoln Middle School to continue this in the future.
