Strong cold front brings powerful winds - The Dallas Morning News

A major weather change is bearing down on North Texas this morning as a strong cold front barrels through. A thin line of showers and thunderstorms is pushing eastward along the front, but they are quickly moving away from DFW. The main emphasis will be on the gusty north winds and cooler air today. In fact, it will be a stark contrast to the warm weekend weather today with temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s. In addition, a Wind Advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. with gusts to 40 mph possible.

After a brief chilly stretch of weather, temperatures will warm back up later this week with highs near 80 again by Thursday and Friday. Another cold front is slated for next weekend.
