There's even some talk of hail.
After a few days of temperatures uncharacteristic for this time of year, San Antonio will see its share of showers and storms brought on by a strong cold front. The National Weather Service says San Antonio will face wet and windy conditions this weekend, according to a report distributed Friday.
The cold front is expected to move through the area Saturday, bringing a chance for rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.
San Antonio-area residents should be prepared for colder temperatures and gusty winds later Saturday as these conditions are likely to follow the cold front, NWS says. Temperatures are set to fall into the 50s while wind speeds may reach between 30 and 40 miles per hour.
Residents in the Hill Country as well as drivers along and east of I-35 and I-37 should especially be aware of weather conditions since heavy rainfall is more likely in these areas. Though few, storms here are expected to be strong and could even be severe. Winds may be damaging while small hail is also a potential threat, one that’s driven by the warmer temperatures earlier in the week that are uncharacteristic for this time of year. NWS says minor flooding is possible in these areas.
At this time, Sunday’s forecast for San Antonio also includes cool conditions as well as a chance of rain that night.
