Denver weather: Cold front sweeps in Monday, but will snow finally fall? - The Denver Post

worldinmiddleeast.blogspot.com

A cold front moved through Denver Sunday afternoon, dropping temperatures about 30 degrees in around three hours. Winds picked up to 30 mph with gusts at 40 mph from the northeast, blowing in a lot of dust. Andy Stien, a meteorologist who writes for the Denver Post, posted a video on Twitter of the city being swept up by the haboob.

Behind the dust storm, temperatures plummeted, dropping to 14 degrees overnight, and Denver actually recorded two hours of light snow. The dusting didn’t end up accumulating enough to snap Denver’s record-long snowless streak, but snow could be on the way later this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will reach 42 degrees under partly sunny skies Monday. The low will dip to 26 degrees. Forecasters say strong winds will continue over the peaks of the Front Range. Light snow is possible west of the foothills.

Denver’s snowfall chance dissipates Tuesday. It will be sunny with a high of 51 degrees, dropping to 28 degrees overnight.

Temperatures in Denver will rise to 60 degrees with sunny skies on Wednesday.

Thursday night could finally bring Denver some snow. A system is expected to move in before daybreak Friday, as temperatures drop into the teens. However, forecasters say if Denver does not get snow by Friday night, the weekend should be warm and dry.
