BIG RAPIDS — Officers with the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety responded to the following calls.
Friday, Nov. 5
• Larceny was reported in the 1200 block of Perry Avenue. Two log splitters were stolen from in front of the store.
• A property damage accident was reported near South Michigan Avenue and Elm Street.
• A well-being check was performed in the 300 block of Morrison Street. The children’s father stated his ex possibly had drug dealers in her apartment. The mother was not home, and the kids were being watched by a friend. The kids appeared happy and healthy
• A PPO was served by Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies in the 800 block of South State Street.
Saturday, Nov. 6
• A traffic stop near Pine and State streets resulted in a driver being cited for no license.
• A civil matter was reported in the 100 block of Maple Street. A man became upset when he could not find his phone in the bar. His phone was located and returned to him.
• A hit and run was reported in the 300 block of Third Avenue. The suspect was driving a dark color, possibly an S-10 pickup. The incident is under investigation.
Sunday, Nov. 7
• An individual was dropping off donation goods in the 200 block of South Stewart Street and found an open door. The building was searched and secured with a key holder present.
• Two dogs, a male husky and male heeler mix, were found at the park in the 1400 block of North Fourth Avenue. The dogs were taken to Mecosta County ARC.
• Big Rapids police officers assisted Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies in the 9600 block of 15 Mile Road with a burglary alarm. The residence was secured.
