Synopsis: Humidity will remain high, with PWATs slightly above 2 inches along the coast and slightly below 2 inches further inland. Most of the rain is expected to fall this afternoon. With the potential for heavy rainfall and the already saturated soils, we have continued the Flash Flood Watch through this afternoon. Scattered to numerous showers and

thunderstorms, are expected through the weekend, with chances beginning to wane Sunday as the upper-level jet moves further northeast, removing much of the upper-level support for convective development.

With the thick cloud cover, our high temperatures will remain in the mid-80s to the low 90s today. We will begin to see some breaks in the clouds later Sunday ahead of an

approaching cold front, so we will warm up a degree or two warmer

than today. For the remainder of the week, a weak frontal boundary will move into the region overnight Sunday into Monday. Lingering moisture on Monday will lead to isolated showers and thunderstorms. The environment will quickly dry out behind the front, with PWATs expected to drop to around 1″ by Monday night and remain at or around 1″ through the end of the week. Sunny skies and high pressure will allow for warmer daytime temperatures. Highs are forecast

to be in the upper 80s along the coast with low to mid 90s expected elsewhere. The combination of clear skies and light winds at night will allow nighttime temperatures to cool into the 60s to low 70s.

In the tropics, Hurricane Sam and TD Victor pose no threat to the US. No other tropical development is expect for the next 48 hours.
