SOLON, Ohio -- Suzanne Chin, a 2004 Solon High School graduate and a city resident, is the new assistant principal at Solon Middle School.
The Solon Board of Education approved Chin for the position Wednesday (June 30). She received a two-year contract, effective Aug. 1, at a salary of $113,448.
She will succeed and work with Antoine Campbell, who was promoted to the position of Solon Middle School principal June 7 after serving six years as assistant principal.
“Suzi is a product of the Solon Schools and a member of the community,” Superintendent Fred Bolden said. “Her Solon roots and breadth of experience in multiple administrative roles make her a welcome addition to our Solon Comet team.
“We’re really excited to have her on board.”
Chin comes to the district with 11 years of experience in the Mentor Public Schools. Most recently, she served as an assistant principal at Mentor High School.
She started her professional career as a teacher in Mentor and advanced to serve as a unit principal for the Mentor High School classes of 2015 and 2019, as well as a special education supervisor for a Mentor middle school and four elementary schools.
“I am very excited to be joining the Solon Schools and continuing the great work already under way in the district and at Solon Middle School,” Chin said in a news release. “I want to help students and staff members learn and grow.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to make a difference in my own community.”
Chin earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Toledo in 2008 and a master’s in educational administration from Ashland University in 2012. She obtained her superintendent’s licensure from Cleveland State University in 2014.
Chin and her husband have two children, who will attend Solon Schools this year.
