NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb (KNEP)- A cold front will sweep through the Greater Nebraska area bringing with it strong wind gusts and cooler temperatures Monday evening into Tuesday. As the front pushes east, sustained winds approaching 30 to 40 mph could gust as high as 40 to 60 mph into the late evening. Winds could still be gusty beyond midnight in the 40 mph range. There is not a lot of moisture for the front to work winds but a few sprinkles to a light showers can’t be ruled out. By Tuesday morning there could even be a few flakes of snow by Tuesday morning from Broken Bow north.
Tuesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with northwest winds still a bit on the breezy side.....From 15 to 25 mph gusting to 30 mph. Temperatures will be about 35 degrees cooler than Monday’s 83 degree highs as readings stall in the mid to upper 40s.
A Red Flag Warning for a wildfire threat will still be posted for Central parts of the state into Tuesday evening. An upper level ridge will build in the region by the end of the week bringing sunshine and warm temperatures in the 70s and 80s from Friday through Monday.
