About forty people gathered this afternoon in front of the Bayshore Mall along Broadway in Eureka to protest abortion. Karen Campbell, a spokesperson called this an interdenominational, “prayerful, peaceful silent…vigil” to honor life from conception to the natural end of life.
According to Campbell, the group meets once a year to hold a prayerful protest to end abortion.
“This is not coordinated [with the Trump rally,]” she told us.
Information put out by the group states that the protest is part of the National Life Chain and it is in its 26th year. This “is a chain of people lining the street, holding signs and praying to end abortion,” the statement says. “This is not a protest but a non-confrontational silent prayer vigil…This chain of people are representatives of many local churches uniting in this cause to save the lives of the unborn.”
