An accident in Aberdeen sent one person to the hospital Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 1 in front of Firehouse Subs at 4:30 p.m.
A Nissan collided with a minivan, sending the minivan into the bushes at the front of the sub shop. The driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Nissan had extensive front-end damage.
One of the two small children that were in the minivan was examined by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries. The minivan had damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
One lane of U.S. 1 was closed while emergency crews worked.
Aberdeen Police is investigating the cause of the accident.
Rockwell Towing was on scene and towed the minivan.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen Police.
