Karma Automotive, the Californian branch of Chinese EV supplier Wanxiang, is being sued by VLF Automotive. The Michigan-based company filed a lawsuit against Karma in the California Supreme Court in June.
The accusation is plagiarism – Karma has the design plans for an off-road vehicle from VLF, which were shared in a planned partnership for the Chinese market. The claim is that Karma then went ahead and used the plans despite a confidentiality agreement. VLF claims damages of at least 18.5 million US dollars.
