Poughkeepsie Middle School Principal Dwayne D’Avilar is resigning effective June 30.
The Poughkeepsie City School District Board of Education accepted his resignation at its regular meeting on Wednesday.

Superintendent Eric Jay Rosser could not be reached.
District Spokesman Irwin Goldberg said officials are working to fill the position but did not provide any other details.
Specifically, Goldberg would not say why D’Avilar is resigning. He also did not explain what the circumstances were leading up to the school board accepting his resignation or if anyone would fill D'Avilar's role on an interim basis.
