Leon Rose's front office has officially taken shape.
The new New York Knicks president announced his new hires on Wednesday, adding Brock Aller as vice president, basketball and strategic planning; Walt Perrin as assistant general manager/college scouting; and Frank Zanin as assistant general manager/pro scouting.
The Knicks also announced the return of general manager Scott Perry on a one-year extension.
“We have assembled a diverse front office comprised of highly regarded and experienced basketball executives who have influenced some of the most successful players and organizations in the league,” Rose said in a statement. “These additions will complement the structure we already have in place and assist us in acquiring talent and developing strategies to build a team our fans can be proud of.”
Rose, a former player agent for Creative Artists Agency, was hired in March and spent the past two-plus months evaluating the front office and deciding which changes needed to be made.
Rose, who took over after former president Steve Mills was reassigned, now has a group of experienced executives around him as he transitions into his new role.
Perrin spent the previous 19 years in the Utah Jazz front office, most recently as vice president of player personnel.
His responsibilities included evaluating players on all levels and assisting with player acquisitions.
Utah had several draft successes during Perrin's time with the team, including Rudy Gobert, Gordon Hayward, Deron Williams, Paul Millsap and Donovan Mitchell. Perrin was a significant part of the decision-making process for all those selections.
He's also familiar with Perry.

Perrin was the Detroit Pistons' director of college scouting when Perry joined the Pistons as a scout in 2000.
They worked together for a year before Perrin left to join the Jazz.
Zanin most recently worked as a scout for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He previously worked for the 76ers and Nets. He was the assistant general manager for former Nets GM Billy King.
A Philadelphia native, Zanin played high school basketball against the late Kobe Bryant, and the two developed a relationship.
Bryant once posted on Twitter supporting Zanin for a front office role.
“Hope to see you in the GM seat for the @BrooklynNets @F1E2Z you have a great basketball mind and it's time you get your shot #gogetit.”
Aller most recently worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers as their senior director of basketball operations. He was a longtime right-hand man to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.
The new-look front office has some big decisions ahead of it — everything from who to pick in the NBA Draft and which players to bring back for next season.
The Knicks have two first-round picks in this year's draft — which is still scheduled for June 25 but is likely to be moved.
