It'll be a fairly warm and muggy day Tuesday ahead of a front that is expected to swing through the area overnight which will help cool us down for the next few days.
There's enough sunshine in the forecast on Tuesday to send temperatures into the upper 80s by the afternoon, and enough moisture to push the heat index into the low 90s.
As the day heats up and the moisture in the atmosphere starts to get a little more churned up a few pop up showers and thunderstorms will be possible, and we'll need to be on the look out for some severe weather.
We're at a lower risk of severe weather but the risk is still there so storms should be monitored in the evening as they start to develop.
A front is moving through Acadiana after sunset and we'll see some scattered showers increasing across the area as we get further into the night, and since the front is moving quickly it will be out of the area by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday is looking sunny, breezy and cool which will be the case until our next front moves in on Friday.
