The student council of Frelinghuysen Middle School in Morris Township and counterparts from Mendham and Long Valley middle schools are raising money for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center Inc., to honor front-line heroes in the fight against the coronavirus.
“Their bravery and response above and beyond the call of duty to this pandemic is so greatly appreciated! We want to help – We want to show our gratitude and support!!” the schools say on their GoFundMe page.
These councils are pledging a dollar-for-dollar match of all contributions, until they exhaust the funds they have raised over this pandemic-shortened school year.
As of Friday evening, the drive had raised $8,567 of its $15,000 goal.
