A person who is “part of” the Camillus Middle School has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the West Genesee Central School District.
The district did not elaborate on the person’s role within the middle school.
The middle school was notified of the positive test by the Onondaga County Department of Health and those with a “higher likelihood” of being in contact with the person were notified, the district said.
The last possible in-school contact anyone could have had with the person was on March 16, the same day the county announced schools would close. The individuals were informed that the incubation period will conclude on Monday.
Earlier Friday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said schools are set to be closed through at least April 15 statewide. Schools had been set to close through April 1.
