Barrington Middle School on lockdown after report of possible gunshot - Tampa Bay Times

LITHIA — Deputies investigating a report Wednesday of a gunshot being heard at Barrington Middle School say they have found no threat.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the lockdowns at both Barrington Middle and Stowers Elementary School were lifted.

Lockout has been lifted and both Barrington Middle and Stowers Elementary are now on a controlled release, meaning parents can check students out through office. Buses running like normal. Again, no threat located. All students safe #barringtonmiddle

The Sheriff’s Office announced that the middle school was placed on lockdown at about 3 p.m. Deputies checked the buildings on campus and fond nothing, the agency said.

The lockdown has since been lifted and students at Barrington Middle and Stowers Elementary were dismissed as usual.
